F.A.Q. week 1 - God's Will

attended today's 5pm service in Victory Ubelt and Ptr. Ryan Tan preached the preview of our new series entitled "F.A.Q" which stands for Frequently Asked Questions.
some of my notes:

* we all looking for guidance and we are all being guided
*what and who is guiding you?

The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding
proverbs 4:7

God's will:
1. Providential will of God - God will do it whether we like it or not

*life is not all about us, it's all about Him.
*the purpose of our life and the purpose of God's will for our lives is for the praise of His glory.

2. Moral will of God - commands God has been given to us. like the 10 commandments. moral issues.

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God; and that in this matter no one should wrong or take advantage of a brother or sister. The Lord will punish all those who commit such sins, as we told you and warned you before. - 1 Thessalonians 4: 3-6

* confusion is the result of violation (resistance to God's will) and not miscommucation
* intentional refusal in embracing God's will

3. Personal will of God - decisions we seek to God

* the more familiar with God's providential will, the more we became familiar with God's moral will, it's easier to disern God's personal will for our life.

* the difficulty in knowing God's will is not the unwillingness of God to communicate. the real challenge in knowing God's will is our willingness to obey and trust and to surrender to God's will

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. - proverbs 3:5-6

wanna know God's will? Surrender.
